In today's constantly changing world, nations and their armed forces need to demonstrate a proactive approach, and to implement strategic researches and developments in order to adapt themselves to these changes.

In order to be able to demonstrate a proactive approach in the world and its region, the Republic of Turkey, which is at the geopolitical and geostrategical crossroads, and its Armed Forces are to conduct strategic researches and studies as well. Expanding the Turkish Armed Forces personnel's horizons on strategic issues and providing highly qualified individuals in the fields important to the Turkish Armed Forces have become a necessity

In line with the technological developments and expansion of the distance learning technologies, the Strategic Researches Institute was established under the Turkish War Colleges Command by the amendment of War Collages Law No. 3563 to provide postgraduate level training and education programs, organize certificate, course and in-service training programs, give academic advice, conduct scientific researches and activities, prepare publications especially on the subjects of critical importance to the Turkish Armed Forces.
